At the Banyan Tree Resort & Spa Al Areen the buildings and guest villas are designed in a striking blend of contemporary Asian and Arabian: pointed arches, ornate stonework, but also dark wood and clean lines. At Al Areen the formerly parched desert is now a lush oasis, snaking between 78 villas.
Fifty-six of them are Desert Pool villas, comprising of separate en-suite bedroom, living room, dining and seating areas, ranged around a private, open-air pool. The others are Royal Pool villas, additionally offering another en-suite bedroom, a dining room, kitchen and a much larger private pool. The giant bathrooms have rainfall showers (both indoor and secluded outdoor versions) and oversized infinity bathtubs.
